Biography:
Future Trunks, a pivotal character in *Dragon Ball Z*, makes his first appearance in episode 119 of the anime series, "Frieza's Counterattack". He is the son of Vegeta and Bulma from an alternate, desolate future timeline.
In his timeline, Earth has been ravaged by the Androids 17 and 18, who murdered almost all of the Z Fighters. Trunks survives, mentored by the surviving Gohan. After Gohan's death, Trunks is spurred on to travel to the past to find a way to defeat the Androids and prevent their rise to power.
Trunks is characterized by his signature purple hair (inherited from his mother) and his proficiency with a sword. He's initially stronger than Goku and Vegeta upon his arrival in the past, showcasing his dedication to training. His time travel ultimately creates a different timeline, but enables him to bring knowledge and power to prevent the Androids' initial success in the primary *Dragon Ball Z* timeline.
